I have a client who went to an insurance covered PT and the PT told her just to keep doing kiegels 60 x per day, and ‘checked’ to make sure she was contracting correctly. I explained to her the rebound and why it is important but I think its hard for her to see the value in our exercises since medicine is telling her what she is doing will help. I’m afraid me having her doing regular strength exercises is only making some of her dysfunction worse and she’s not open to our exercises because she feels she is losing strength. I think some articles or other resources besides me would be useful to send a long.

Thank you for using the Forum and sorry for the delayed response. I understand you need reference articles that would help your client understand why her doctor’s advice is counter-productive. I will peruse a group of research papers I have collected to add to our Portal and will keep you posted. I would encourage to do 1/4 of your session on RevInMo exercises and the rest in what she’s familiar with. Wll get back to you about the references.
Thank you Jana!

Hi Jana, I don’t have any resources in my back pocket right now. I will be with Dr. Edythe tomorrow and we’ll see what we can find!

Thank you guys for responding to this in the alumni gathering! I have cut down on the exercises with her to keep her more engaged. The abdominal wall series seems to be connecting well with her. And I look forward to the article when it come 🙂
